My Big Hairy Romance
By Jennifer Bryce
My Big Hairy Romance is an endearing tale of star-crossed love in the face of mystery and danger.
Hannah is an Apache girl raised by her tribe. She and her Gramps run a business together. Guided hunts, they are called. The rich and adventurous come from miles around to hunt elk and deer, but mostly, to ride the coat tails of the Native Americans that reside there, and run the tours, to glory.
Hannah never expected to meet anyone decent on these expeditions-until she met Jake: a young man of privilege with a history of alcohol abuse. Together, they discover the secrets that lie within the deep woods. They discover that Bigfoot could be more than myth, more than legend. And through it all, Hannah and Jake discover one another.
Jennifer Bryce goes into great detail about Native American culture in this book. Although this story was grammatically rough at certain parts, it paints a beautiful, down-to-earth picture of an Apache girl and her evolution.
The characters are well written and likeable, with depth and organic dialogue. I found a few interactions to be a little forced and rushed, but that is common in a short story.
At the end of the day, I felt very satisfied with My Big Hairy Romance. It is an easy read for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a light, romantic story, and did i mention Bigfoot?! Thanks, Jennifer. Keep up the good work!
